HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR SWIMWEAR

To keep your swimwear in good shape throughout the summer—and beyond—it’s essential to care for it properly. How you wash and dry it makes all the difference. No one looks great in a stretched-out or wrinkled swimsuit, and deformed cups can ruin your beach look.

1. Rinse after every use
Even if you didn’t spend the entire day at the pool, rinse your swimsuit. Salt, chlorine, and sunscreen residue can damage it permanently. Ideally, shower while still wearing it. Use a bit of shower gel to lather, then rinse thoroughly with warm water.
Never leave a wet swimsuit rolled up or in a bag.
Prolonged exposure to salt or chlorine may cause fabric fading or damage.

2. Hand wash only
Untie all strings before washing. Pay special attention to decorative elements or jewelry—these can tarnish or break if handled improperly. After washing, gently pat dry. Soak your swimsuit for 15–30 minutes in lukewarm water (around 40°C) with a mild detergent for delicate fabrics. Rinse thoroughly.

3. Drying
Never tumble dry swimwear or lingerie. Lay flat to dry, away from direct sunlight (which causes color fading).
Never hang tops by their straps—they may stretch and lose shape.

4. Use your oldest swimsuit in the jacuzzi
Avoid wearing Lycra swimsuits with lamination or decorative elements in hot tubs. Hot water and chlorine will quickly damage the fabric. If you love the jacuzzi, buy a cheap swimsuit for that purpose—you won’t mind if it wears out quickly.
