HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR SWIMSUIT?
To keep your swimsuit in good condition throughout the summer and into the next season, proper care is essential. How you wash and dry it is absolutely crucial. No one looks good in a stretched-out, wrinkled swimsuit, and deformed bra cups can be truly unflattering. So how should you care for your swimsuit?
1. Rinse your swimsuit after every use
Even if you didn’t spend the whole day in the pool, rinse your swimsuit. Salt, chlorine, and sunscreen residue can permanently damage it. The best practice is to shower in your swimsuit – it’s a standard routine after leaving the pool or sea. Use a little shower gel, lather the fabric, and rinse thoroughly with warm water.
Never leave a wet swimsuit rolled up or in a bag.
Prolonged exposure to chlorinated or salty water can cause the fabric to discolor.
2. Hand wash only
Untie all strings before washing. Pay special attention to decorative elements and jewelry, which can quickly become dull or damaged with improper handling. It's best to dry them separately after washing. Soak the swimsuit for 15–30 minutes in lukewarm water (around 40°C) with a small amount of detergent for delicate fabrics. Rinse thoroughly to remove all residue.
3. Drying
Do not tumble dry swimsuits or lingerie. Lay them flat to dry, away from direct sunlight (which can cause fading). Never hang bras by the straps – they will stretch and lose elasticity.
4. Always wear your oldest swimsuit in the jacuzzi
Avoid wearing lycra swimsuits with laminate or jewelry in hot tubs. Hot water and chlorine quickly damage the fabric. If you love jacuzzis, buy an inexpensive swimsuit just for that purpose – you won’t mind if it wears out quickly.
Damage resulting from failure to follow these care guidelines is not grounds for complaint.
